    Dragstalgia 2025

Onwards & Upwards for Young Albert Carter!

Although Dragstalgia points wise and qualifying was disappointing, the young team made good steps forward running a 11.28 which is Alberts best ET (his PB is 8.26 set at Frank Hawleys Drag Racing School) to date in his 454 Chevrolet Ford Popular.

Albert said ‘I had a fantastic weekend, thx to my Dad & Mum, Matthew Humphrys, all the spectators who came up and said hello and offered support, Martyn Hannis, all the Racers in OA for advice & Support and Santa Pod Raceway for putting on a fantastic meeting’.

Thank you to Jon Spoard and Richard Agar for the pictures

  • Carter shines over Bank holiday weekend!

Carter shines over Bank holiday weekend!

Young Lucas Oil driver Albert Carter was in fine form over the weekend in Junior productions winning both heats and the Final from Red (back of the field) Top.
After struggling with a missfire and lack of revs for the two previous Championship rounds the team finally got the Micra running right and on song and it showed on track with Carter being able to hold his own on the straights.
Heat 1 was a good solid Win with Carter not putting a foot wrong. The best race of the day was Heat 3 with Carter and the talented #330 William Deeley swopping places several times inside the last 2 laps but it was Carter who came out on top crossing the line just inches ahead.
The Final was again Carter followed by Deeley.

Lucas Oil Products UK driver Albert Carter is one third through a busy season which sees him competing in the 18 rounds RTS Championships, The 6 round Smallfield Junior Production Championship and practising in National Hot Rod.

As the defending Junior Production Champion at Smallfield and a known points Champion at RTS Carter finds himself starting every race ¾ lap back and every race at every meeting has been tough so far, we don’t expect it to change! Albert said, ‘’Starting every race from the back it’s tough, there’s a lot of good drivers out there in the Ovals but thank you to everyone that is supporting me, I’m giving it 100% to deliver Championships’’.

Yuasa continues sponsorship of 14-year-old rising motorsport star, Albert Carter

GS Yuasa Battery Sales UK Ltd is pleased to announce that it is set to continue its long-standing sponsorship of Carter Motorsport by backing 14-year-old Albert Carter in Junior Hot Rod.

Carter Motorsport are approaching 2018 as a transition year for Albert. He will be testing in a National Hot Rod racing car regularly to prepare for his National Hotrod debut as soon as he is old enough next year. He will then compete for the World, British, English and European titles.

Yuasa has a strong and proud association with the Carter’s having sponsored Andy from 1994 through to his retirement in 2011. They have also supported Albert during his progression through the karting ranks.

Albert is very much looking forward to getting out on track, he said: “I feel confident going into this season. I am confident I can win both championships and defend my title in the Smallfield Junior Production Championship. I’ve got a good car, good people around me and a lot of experience from my years of racing.

As always, I‘ve got good support from my sponsors and I am proud to carry the Yuasa logo and very lucky that Carter Motorsport has had Yuasa’s support for nearly 25 years.

I will be testing my new National Hotrod regularly during 2018. As the car has much more speed than my junior racing car I hope the tests will really develop my skills and give me a competitive advantage in the Junior Rod.”

  • Double trophies at Smallfield Raceway for Carter

Double trophies at Smallfield Raceway for Carter

Great drive by Lucas Oil Products UK and Lucas Oil USA Driver Albert Carter at the 3rd round of the Smallfield Raceway Junior Productions Championship.

After missing round 2 due to Show commitments for Sponsors, it was back to business for the young Carter who needed to score points at this round to get back in the chase.

A misfire that developed in Heat 1 held Carter back but he showed determination and managed to limp to a win. We made some changes but still a misfire in Heat 2.
A big thank you to Frankie West who came over before the final and gave us a spare throttle body to try.
The final was a great race with the misfire gone but still not proper power as the engine wasn’t reving round correctly. This was a good drive by Albert with the engine as it was and he carried the car, was sharp and making up time under braking and corners – a really good drive to get a close 2nd place and more much needed points.

Thank you to Lucas Oil, NGK Spark Plugs (UK), Teng Tools Colin North, Rainbow Conference Sets, Pioneer Central Sue Binden, VEIDEC, Corbeau Seats UK, CAAR David Owen, Yuasa Batterys, Ultimate Air Brush Richard Carman

Thank you to everyone at Smallfield Raceway 2017 for putting on a great race meeting.

Also thanks to anyone that is giving Albert support and encouragement, it is appreciated.
